To make flavourful Arabic rice with The Spice Specialist’s Arabic Rice Spice blend, follow these simple steps:
Prepare the Rice: Rinse and soak 1 cup of basmati rice for 15-20 minutes, then drain.
Caramelise Onions: Sauté 1 large sliced onion in 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee over medium heat for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Set aside half for garnish.
Toast Rice: Add the drained rice to the pot with the remaining onions and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add Seasoning: Stir in 1 tablespoon of Arabic Rice Spice and toast for 1 minute.
Cook Rice: Add 1.5 cups of water or broth, season with salt, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low for 15-18 minutes.
